Across the state, districts have a remarkable opportunity to use LCFF dollars to re-buildand re-imagine student learning. In response, many school leaders are taking a newlook at summer time as an opportunity for innovation. They are building engaging,hands-on summer learning opportunities that motivate their highest need students aboutlearning and build essential academic and social-emotional skills. And, they are findingthat teachers and other staff are using this space to try out new instructional strategiesand curriculum to bring into their new Common Core classrooms. In this workshop,participants will learn key tips for building a successful summer program and gatherresources and tools being used by districts across the state.
