SURVIVAL SKILLS (the REMIX)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This session focuses on the unique position that Small School District Superintendents face on a daily basis without additional staff support. In addition to suggestions on how to maintain regular communication with the Board, the staff and the community, this session emphasizes teamwork, being visible and available to the Board, being politically astute and ethical.  A special add-on to this year’s presentation came directly from the superintendents on the Small School District Committee. Those add-ons include: Building relationships with all stakeholders;

Employees with relatives in the community; Juggling multiple roles: Sp Ed, CBO,

C & I; Time management; Professional development; Building a collaborative & supportive culture; Resources and contacts to survive first two years as a Superintendent: Nurture and care of Board Members; and, Negotiations with unions–certificated & classified.
